Jacob Ross

Jacob is a third-generation aviator and the founder of Ross Air Chicago. Inspired by his grandfather, a World War II Navy Fighter Pilot, who dedicated himself to flying by mentoring new aviators. Jacob continues that legacy through personalized, safety-focused flight instruction.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Pure Mathematics. After university he decided to pursue aviation full-time as a career. He combines his strong technical foundation with a passion for aviation to create lessons that are clear, engaging, and practical.

Jacob’s teaching philosophy centers on developing knowledgeable, safe, and confident pilots. He enjoys working with pilots at every stage of their journey; from their first discovery flights to advanced certifications, helping each student reach their unique aviation goals with confidence and purpose.

In his free time, Jacob is an active volunteer with the Scouting America program and enjoys spending time outdoors — camping, hiking, and fishing whenever he can
